In March 2013, the "2013 China Aluminum Alloy Wheel Industry Aftermarket Market Summit Forum" was held in Guangzhou. At the meeting, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Wheels Committee of the China Automobile Industry Association, Wang Xiaodong, issued China's aluminum wheel production in the past decade and its regional distribution, aluminum wheel import and export data, and forecasted the development of aluminum wheels this year.
At the end of 2012, the production capacity of aluminum wheels in China was close to 180 million, and the sales volume was over 120 million. The capacity utilization rate was over 70%. Among them, there are about 5 million domestic retailers and more than 60 million exporters; domestic OEMs have about 60 million vehicles.
The provinces with large aluminum wheel production capacity in China mainly include Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hebei, Shandong, Guangdong, and Shanghai, accounting for nearly 80% of the total.
According to the results of the inquiry, the imports of aluminum wheels and related products increased from US$0.8 billion in 2003 to US$250 million in 2012. (As shown in the figure below) In terms of export value, the export volume of aluminum wheels and related products increased nearly 8 times in the past 10 years, from US$530 million in 2003 to US$4.05 billion in 2012.
With regard to the development situation of aluminum wheels in China in 2013, there are mainly six aspects.
First, the export growth rate of aluminum wheels will exceed 5%; Second, the growth rate of domestic sales of aluminum wheels will be more than 5%; Third, the market for aluminum wheels after-sales modification will increase by more than 10%; Fourth, domestic A00 aluminum year. The average price is slightly higher than that of 2012. Fifth, stabilizing quality and reducing costs will become the key to the aluminum wheel industry. Sixth, brand promotion will become the core of the aluminum wheel industry.
