University students develop smart monitors to get venture capital

The reporter learned on November 5 that Chongqing Xinan Information Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully obtained the first round of capital injection of RMB 1.5 million from a local venture capital institution with the help of the Chongqing College Student Business Incubation Base.

From "Scattered Soldiers" to Enterprise Operation

At the end of 2008, Cao Ling, who was studying abroad, returned to Chongqing and founded the Xinan Information Technology Co., Ltd. with two students who knew technology and sales. In 2009, they formally settled in Chongqing University's entrepreneurship incubator base in Shiqiaopu. There, they received free office space, entrepreneurial training, innovative guidance and a series of services, as well as 250,000 yuan in investment by start-up companies. For them, it is undoubtedly a "send in the snow."

Under the assistance of the incubation base, Cao Ling took technology research and development as the core competitiveness of the company's development, and aimed at the emerging field of building energy conservation. From the initial product agency and technology integration, it gradually began to transform itself into independent research and development.

“The energy consumption monitoring and energy saving management system we have developed is mainly based on internet technology, installing meters and sensors to intelligently monitor the energy consumption of buildings such as lighting, air conditioning and elevators, and then analyzing and formulating a set of solutions.” Cao Ling said that this can allow buildings to reduce energy consumption by about 20%-30%.

As of the first half of this year, the city has already installed and applied the system to 30 large-scale public buildings including Jiefangbei Riyueguang Center Plaza and Yunyang Liangjiang Holiday Hotel. The company’s sales revenue has also reached tens of millions of yuan from the initial tens of thousands of yuan. .

“We have changed from the past 'spread troops' to the current enterprise operation, and the scale of the team is also expanding. At present, there are 20 teams, all of whom are undergraduates, and graduates or above account for 60% of the total number of employees.” Cao Ling told reporters .

Going forward to list on the GEM

“Building energy consumption monitoring and energy conservation management will have great room for development in Chongqing and even in the whole country.” Cao Ling introduced that in May of this year, “The 12th Five-Year Plan for Building Energy Efficiency Special Plan” was released, and Chongqing was selected as the first batch. One of the key cities for energy saving renovation of large-scale public buildings.

Cao Ling hopes to adopt the "contract energy management" model and implement "zero threshold" installation so that his products can be used in public buildings in hotels, hospitals, schools, office buildings, etc. in the city for more than one year.

“Initially, neither the building owner nor the user needs to invest a penny. When the system uses and sees the actual benefits, a certain percentage of the annual energy cost savings is used as a cost.” Cao Ling said this can be dispelled.
