For American LaFrance collectors

This message is from John Tobin:

ALF 1000 series restoration project. It was originally a brand new unit in the 1970s, owned by the South Chicago Heights Fire Department in Illinois. In the mid-1990s, the cab was bought by the Zion Fire Department, and 3-D Metals removed the roof and converted it into a closed cab on their AP chassis. I thought it had too much potential to end up in the scrap yard, so I decided to cut off just the front section, mount it on wheels, give it a fresh coat of paint, and add a South Park bell. That’s how it ended up looking today.
If any ALF enthusiasts are interested in this project, feel free to reach out. The Elgin logo can be easily removed, and a new department name can be applied if desired. It's a unique piece with a lot of history behind it.

I've been working on this project for a while now, and I really enjoy the process of bringing old fire apparatus back to life. This particular cab has a rich history, and I wanted to preserve some of that while giving it a new purpose. If you're into vintage fire trucks or have an interest in American LaFrance models, this could be a great find. Let me know if you'd like more details or photos.
