Mitsui Chemicals announced at the end of February that it had agreed to authorize Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) to use its toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) technologies to build related projects. According to the agreement, both parties will also jointly develop TDI and MDI technologies. The agreement is an important step for SABIC to become a leading manufacturer of polyurethane intermediates. The TDI and MDI devices will be part of the Jubail large integrated polyurethane intermediate unit .
