Good morning everyone,
I just wanted to share some details about an incident that occurred yesterday, June 7, 2016, in Cicero. There was a report of a stove fire at 3322 South 60th Court. The emergency call came in around 6:45 PM. Engine 3 arrived on the scene and reported a small fire. All units initially responded with full resources but later downgraded to a "fire-ground Red" status, meaning they scaled back their operations slightly. However, Engine 1 was dispatched to the Morton Park firehouse to cover another station after Berwyn 903 was cleared.
The units that were present at the scene included Engine 2, Engine 3, Truck 1, Truck 2, F-12, and F-14. It was quite an organized response, and I appreciate everyone's efforts in handling the situation efficiently.
In case you're curious about what these scenes looked like, here are a few photos from County-Wide Fire Photography. The first image shows a firefighter closing a hydrant, followed by a shot of a Cicero fire engine arriving at the scene. Another photo highlights one of their trucks, and the last image captures a closer look at the fire engine itself.
It’s always fascinating to see how quickly these teams can mobilize and handle emergencies like this. Kudos to all the firefighters involved!
Take care,
