Binzhou City Annually Uses 600,000 Tons of R&D Patents for Waste Tires

On December 17, 2013, Sun Zhiheng, former party secretary of the provincial government's counselor and provincial economic and information committee, led the provincial government's investigation team to investigate the recycling of used tires to Binzhou City, and was accompanied by Vice Mayor Shen Xinyu.

The research team listened to reports on the development of circular economy and waste tire recycling in Binzhou and visited related companies. They exchanged views with Binzhou on issues such as building and standardizing the recycling system of used tires and strengthening the technical progress of waste tire recycling and utilization enterprises.

According to statistics, at present, there are more than 100 waste tire recycling and primary processing enterprises in the city, with about 6,000 employees. With annual use of 600,000 tons of used tires, Qingyang Town in Zouping County has become the city’s largest waste collection site. In terms of comprehensive utilization of used tires, the city has initially formed four major recycling segments: rubber powder for waste tyre production, fuel oil for low-temperature catalytic cracking, refurbishment and remanufacturing of used tires, and rubber tires for used tires. The city has a total of more than 70 patents for the research and development of used tire processing technologies, including more than 20 international patents for PCT protection. It has established a research center for tire retreading and recycling in China (Binzhou), and has a research and application technology for automated production of fine rubber powders.
