Subject: Eyewitness Account of Major Fire in Cedar Rapids

Hope this message finds you well. I'm writing to share something I just witnessed tonight. My name is Isaac Main, and I’m originally from the Chicago area but have been living in Cedar Rapids for a few years now. I’m also an avid reader of your blog, so I thought you might find this interesting.
Around 8 PM tonight, I saw a massive fire breaking out in an office building here in Cedar Rapids. It’s located near my apartment, just about a block away. I snapped a few photos and wanted to pass them along to see if they’d be worth sharing with your audience. From what I can tell, the building housed offices for a nearby hospital, though I’m not entirely sure about that since there were several loud explosions as the fire spread.
When I arrived at the scene, the fire department had already dispatched quite a few resources—five engines, two ladder trucks (one from another city), two ambulances, a heavy rescue unit, two battalion chiefs’ pickups, and even another support vehicle. By the time I got there, flames were shooting through the roof, and the situation looked pretty intense. Luckily, it seems like everyone managed to escape safely, though I don’t have any official confirmation yet.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department tweeted earlier that this is being treated as a major fire, which makes sense given the scale of the response. I’ve attached three photos below to give you an idea of what it looked like while it was still unfolding. Let me know if you’d like more—I took quite a few shots from different angles.
