I captured this around 5:00 am on Thursday, January 5th. The first report came in about a fire at a pallet yard located at 48th and Morgan. From the street, it looked more like a pile of junk that had caught fire, with just a few stacks of pallets visible. Engine 50 was positioned inside the yard, but their location wasn't visible from the road.

These photos give a good sense of what the scene looked like early in the morning. It's interesting to see how the fire spread through the piles of materials, and how the firefighters had to work in such a challenging environment. The images show the dedication of the crew as they worked through the night to bring the fire under control. I think it’s important for people to see these real-life moments, especially when it comes to emergency response efforts in urban areas.
