Wilmette Fire Department open house

The Wilmette Fire Department held an open house on Saturday morning, May 18th, 2019. The event featured several vintage fire apparatus and gave residents a chance to see the newly arrived Engine 27, which was ceremoniously pushed into the station as part of the celebration.

Engine 27 is a 2019 Pierce Dash CF PUC, unit number 32569. It’s equipped with a 1,500-GPM pump, 750 gallons of water, and a foam cell that can hold either 20 or 30 gallons. The engine also includes a 35-foot ground ladder and will serve as Engine 26 when the tower ladder is unavailable. It will be stationed at Station 27, replacing the older 2013 E-One engine, which will now act as a reserve unit.
