Dylan Mercier, a 19-year-old owner/operator from St. Anne, Illinois, is excited to finally get his custom-built Mack Vision tractor and matching grain trailer on the road. In addition to running his business, Dylan serves as a firefighter, which has inspired the unique look of his rig.
“I bought a firefighter costume for the Mack bulldog on the hood, and that’s when I knew exactly what I wanted to do,†Mercier shared. “This truck isn’t just a vehicle—it’s a tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.â€
The truck and trailer are wrapped in a striking vinyl design that honors fallen firefighters, while also featuring a range of aftermarket upgrades. It's a personal project that reflects both his career and passion.
Despite his enthusiasm, there are some challenges. “The insurance costs for hauling with a for-hire permit were way too high for me to make it profitable, especially since I'm under 21,†he explained. “For now, the truck is more of a showpiece and parade vehicle until I can find better coverage.â€
Still, Dylan drives with pride. “This truck makes me feel proud every time I get behind the wheel. It's not just about the looks—it's about the story it tells.â€
