The converter shell is a cylinder made of steel or cast steel, which can be made in one piece or in two halves that can be removed. Removable end caps are provided at both ends of the furnace shell. A combustion hole is opened in the center of the end cap to mount the burner. The furnace body is supported on four rollers by two support rollers at a support angle of 60 °C. A gear is mounted at one end of the furnace. The tilting of the furnace usually depends on manpower. The center of the furnace has a furnace mouth, which is a flue gas outlet, which is also a feeding and discharging port.

Common types include azo pigments, lake pigments, phthalocyanine pigments and quinacridone pigments. They are all artificially synthetic organic compounds. The intermediate, synthesis process and equipment required by such kind of pigments are generally the same as that required by organic dyes, therefore usually manufactured in the dye industry. However, as pigments, they are, after all, different from the organic dyes.
Organic pigment is an insoluble organic matter, which is usually colored by adding a substrate in a highly dispersed state. Its fundamental difference from dyes is that dyes can be dissolved in the dyeing medium used, while pigments are insoluble in neither the medium in which they are used nor the colored substrate. Many pigments and dyes are identical in chemical structure, and they can be transformed into each other by using different methods. For example, some vat dyes and sulfide vat dyes can be used as fiber dyes if they are reduced to leuco. If it is not reduced, it can be used as a pigment for advanced inks. Organic pigments are widely used in printing ink, paint, dope and synthetic fiber, as well as pigment printing of fabrics, plastics, rubber and leather, etc. Among them, the amount of pigment used in printing ink is the largest. The output of organic pigments accounts for about a quarter of the total output of dyes.
