On April 14, 2017, a house fire broke out at 4005 Illinois Street in Crystal Lake, under the jurisdiction of Nunda Rural Fire Protection District (FPD). Steve Redick captured several images of the emergency response, including apparatus from multiple fire departments. A Box Alarm was issued for tenders to provide a water supply due to the size of the incident.
The photos show a variety of fire vehicles responding to the call, highlighting the collaborative effort among different agencies. Among the units seen are a fire engine from the Crystal Lake Fire Department, a tender from Cary FPD, a mini pumper from Nunda Rural FPD, and Engine 41 from the same district. Additional units include a tanker from Grayslake FPD, another from Union FPD, and a fire engine from Algonquin-Lake in the Hills. Other participating departments include McHenry Township FPD, Round Lake FPD, Mundelein Fire Department Truck 431, Fox Lake FPD, Fox River Grove FPD, and Nunda Rural FPD Engine 45. These images give a clear view of the coordinated response that took place during the fire.
