Bedford Park Fire Department news and history

In 1960, we began a chapter in our history that would last for 63 years! We were the first fire department to receive a brand-new type of apparatus — the Snorkel. Over the years, we had several of these trucks that not only served the residents of Bedford Park but also helped neighboring departments when needed. Earlier this week, Truck “Snorkel” 705 was officially decommissioned and is now on its long journey — over 5,000 miles — to Ukraine. There, it will embark on a new mission that’s far greater than what we could have imagined. We hope you continue to protect and serve the people of Ukraine as you have done for us over the past six decades. Thank you for the memories and the service.
