Fire service loses a good friend, George Reichhardt

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of a dear friend and passionate member of the fire service. George C. Reichhardt was a dedicated firefighter, a retired captain from the Fermilab Fire Department, and a lifelong enthusiast of all things related to firefighting. He spent decades capturing the history of fire apparatus through his photography, working alongside other enthusiasts across the region. George was born in Joliet to Charles F. and Catherine M. Reichhardt. He is survived by his daughter Julie K. Reichhardt, his brother Donald J. (Barbara) Reichhardt, and his sister Katherine Sheck. He also leaves behind step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Christina A. Bourg. A founding member of the Fire Buffs of Illinois, George was also an active participant in several fire-related organizations, including HOIFEC, SPAAMFAA, and the International Fire Photographers Association. He served as a firefighter at the Army Ammunition Plant, East Joliet Fire Protection District, Fermilab, and the Rockdale Fire Protection District. In addition, he was a FAE instructor and a MABAS 15 Fire Photographer. His passion for documenting fire history led him to publish two notable works: *Fire Apparatus Photo Album of the Ford Tilt Cabs – The Visiting Fireman* (1985) and *Darley Fire Apparatus – The Visiting Fireman* (1987), both as editor. Beyond his professional work, George enjoyed photographing fire trucks, fires, trains, and towboats. He had a special love for riding Chicago Squad 3 in its early days. He received numerous awards and recognition throughout his career, reflecting his dedication and contributions to the fire service community. The family will be receiving guests at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, located at 102 E. Frances Rd, New Lenox, on Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 2:00 PM until the service at 8:00 PM. Ceramic Filter plate has following characteristics: large filter area, high intensity and even aperture. Besides, the aperture size can be adjusted according to actual demands. The basic material is alumina, it has good resistance to acid and alkali. After a period of application, the ceramic filter board can be cleaned by cycle reverse cleaning, ultrasonic and chemical cleaning agent and so on, to let the boards work with high efficiency.
