All regions of Tibet prohibit "white pollution"

The Tibet Autonomous Regional Environmental Protection Working Conference held in Lhasa on the 9th decided that the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region will launch a full-scale action against white pollution this year.
Zhang Yongze, director of the Tibet Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau, said that in July 2004, Lhasa carried out a ban on "white pollution," and the use of cloth bags and paper bags to replace disposable plastic bags had achieved good results. This year's action will be extended to the entire autonomous region.
In recent years, with the development of tourism in Tibet, the number of tourists entering Tibet has increased, and many attractions have also been contaminated by plastic products. At the same time, with the increase in the resident population in various cities in Tibet, the use frequency of plastic bags has increased significantly. “White pollution” has become an important cause of environmental pollution in some parts of Tibet.
