This is the world's first 500,000 tons of coal-made methanol plant with high-sulfur coal as raw material. After the plant is put into operation, it can digest 1 million tons of high-sulfur coal and reduce more than 40,000 tons of sulfur dioxide dust.
The high-sulfur coal reserves of the Yankuang Group are approximately 1 billion tons. For a long time, due to the high cost of desulfurization, the country has restricted the use of high-sulfur coal. Through this device, Yankuang Group can convert high-sulfur coal into a pure energy feedstock with a purity of 99.999%—methanol. Among them, the conversion of more than 20,000 tons of sulfur extracted can generate more than 7,000 yuan per year for the company. The completion and commissioning of this project signifies that China's comprehensive development and utilization of high-sulfur coal and development of coal-based alcohol ether fuel technology have reached the world's advanced level, and has entered the stage of large-scale development.
