On April 14, 2017, a house fire broke out at 4005 Illinois Street in Crystal Lake, covered by the Nunda Rural FPD. Steve Redick captured several images of the scene, showing emergency vehicles responding to the incident. A Box Alarm was issued for tenders to supply water to the area.
The photos include a Crystal Lake FD fire engine, a Cary FPD tender, a Nunda Rural FPD mini pumper, and Engine 41 from Nunda Rural FPD. Other units seen at the scene include a Grayslake FPD tanker, an Union FPD tanker, an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills fire engine, a McHenry Township FPD fire truck, a Round Lake FPD fire engine, and Mundelein Fire Department Truck 431. Additional images show a Fox Lake FPD fire engine, a Fox River Grove FPD tanker, and Nunda Rural FPD Engine 45 and Engine 41. These photos provide a visual record of the coordinated response by multiple fire departments to a serious residential fire.
