Finding reasons for selling SUVs


Although the dispute over the economic SUV's reputation has not yet been achieved, there are still many doubts about the economical SUV's function and quality, and it has not stopped the rapid rise of economic SUVs. Last year, sales of economical SUVs accounted for half of the entire SUV and off-road vehicle market. Great Wall Sev won the top-selling sales crown in one fell swoop. The rapid expansion of such SUVs has also contributed to the rapid development of SUVs and off-road vehicles in the past two years. From a functional and qualitative point of view, this type of economic SUV developed from the chassis of the pickup truck is indeed not far from the real SVSV. In particular, there is a certain gap in cross-country, safety, and comfort. So, why do consumers choose this economical SUV, which has also been dubbed the “quasi-SUV”? The online car market conducted a small survey on this, and the results showed that: appearance and low price are the first choice for consumers to purchase economic SUVs. Saif and JMC are the most economical SUV brands that have attracted the attention of consumers. According to the survey, out of the 537 respondents, 225 were on the grounds of purchase, accounting for 41.9%. In second place is the low price, accounting for 35.2%. In addition, brands and configurations are also factors that people value when they buy economical SUVs. 31.8% and 29% of the respondents chose these two items in the reasons for buying a car. The after-sales service that is more and more taken care of by car users ranks only sixth among the eight reasons for economical SUVs. The survey involved nine economic SUV brands such as Great Wall Saifu, ZTE, Futian, Jiangling, Wanfeng, Dadi, Tianma, Shuguang and Shuanghuan. In the selection of model brands, the Great Wall Saif won the most votes, accounting for 31.5% of the total number of surveys; followed by Jiangling. It accounts for 25%. Double ring accounted for 14%, ranking third. Other brands are less than 10%. Although the scale of this survey is not large, it still reflects some regularities. First of all, when people buy economical SUVs, they mainly look at the shape and price, which shows that there are markets for such models. Also in the people's SUV, off-road vehicle complex. In the middle and low income consumer groups, many people have low purchasing power, but they like SUVs, off-road vehicles, and economical SUVs. Therefore, they pay more attention to the quality of their products and the best quality and after-sales service. It is worth noting that, in the past, we generally believed that the economic car consumer brand awareness was not strong. In this survey, the brand ranked third in the reasons for car purchase. Although there are many brands and models of economic SUVs at present, the homogeneity of products tends to be obvious, but the brand concentration is relatively strong, mainly concentrated in two or three brands. This is basically in line with the sales of various brands of economical SUVs last year. According to Hua Xue, director of the online car market, the number of people participating in the survey was the least attended by the online auto market surveys, and only about one-tenth of other surveys. He analyzed that this may be related to the fact that the SUV purchase group is smaller and the degree of attention is not as high as that of a sedan. However, this ratio is much higher than the proportion of SUV in the entire car sales. Taking sales in 2003 as an example, sales of SUVs and off-road vehicles accounted for only 4% of total sales.
