This report comes from Dan Shevlin:
Still & Box Alarm 5814 RoscoeStill Time: Approximately 1410 hoursEngine 94 was the first on scene, responding to a fire facing westbound and immediately deployed two lines. Truck 53 was assigned to Sector 1. Engine 7, as the second engine, positioned itself at the northwest corner of Newport and Menard, then moved to the rear via the alley. Engine 68 approached from the east on Roscoe and also laid a line. The Fire Alarm Officer received multiple calls about the gazebo on fire in the back. The fire quickly spread to the rear of the Chicago bungalow, through the attic, and into the exposure to the west. I arrived after the fire had already been brought under control. Thanks for the update, Dan Shevlin.

It was a fast-moving fire that spread quickly through the structure, making it important for crews to respond swiftly. Several engines were involved, and the coordination between them seemed solid. The fact that the fire reached the attic and exposed the building to the west shows how dangerous these types of fires can be. It's good to see that the fire was eventually contained and that no one was injured. A big thanks to Dan Shevlin for capturing the scene and sharing the details with us.
